What data is collected and why
Google Analytics 4 — consent required
If you accept the Analytics purpose in the consent modal, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is loaded via Cloudflare Zaraz. GA4 sets first-party cookies (primarily _ga and _ga_*) in your browser and sends pseudonymous usage data — page views, session duration, referrer, approximate geographic region, and device type — to Google's servers.
This data is used solely to understand how content on this site is read. It is not used for advertising, retargeting, or profiling. No data is sold or shared with third parties beyond Google's role as a data processor under their data processing terms.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). GA4 is not loaded if you decline or have not yet responded to the consent modal.
Cloudflare performance monitoring — no consent required
Cloudflare provides first-party, real-user monitoring (RUM) and infrastructure telemetry as part of the service that proxies and delivers this site. This includes data such as page load times, error rates, and aggregated network metrics. Cloudflare does not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking. No additional cookies are set by Cloudflare's monitoring.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — ensuring the reliability and security of the site. You may object to this processing by contacting the address below; in practice, this monitoring cannot be disabled for individual visitors without ceasing to use the site.

Consent — how to give, change, or withdraw it
On your first visit, a consent modal is shown by Cloudflare Zaraz. You can accept or decline the Analytics purpose individually. Your choice is saved in the zaraz-consent first-party cookie.
To change or withdraw consent at any time, clear the zaraz-consent cookie in your browser — the modal will reappear on your next visit. Withdrawing consent stops all future GA4 data collection; it does not affect data already sent to Google.
What this site does not do
- No advertising networks or ad-tech vendors are used.
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
- No data is sold or rented to any third party.
- No sensitive personal data (health, financial, etc.) is collected.
Data retention
GA4 data retention is set to the minimum available in the GA4 property settings (currently 2 months for user-level data). You can request deletion at any time via the contact address below.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR (or UK GDPR) including the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Because analytics data is pseudonymous and not linked to an identity, fulfilling some requests may require you to provide your _ga cookie value so the relevant records can be identified.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the EU, a list of authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. In the UK, the relevant authority is the ICO.
